It should be a priority to add hair styles to the game adding to the availability to the races evenly and adding hairstyles real and anime themed long super long and short.
in general almost EVERYONE agrees spoken in game with the smaller amount not having an opinion on it .
they complain about clipping = that hasnt stopped anything b4 Example the seventh heaven whm set for females clips = nobody gives a rats butt about that we want good styles if it bothers them so much = update the physics and stop being incredibly lazy.
That said it is up to us to make a big stink over it and see it done - good luck and welcome to the attempt to fix this issue that said i will make a official forum post and link it in the comments anyone who wishes to participate simply take a pic of a style you wish to see from anything you want tv,anime.movie,game ect and post it on the link .
with enough attention the hope is its all added.

It's all a nice dream, but rendering long hair properly is a programming nightmare and just KILLS frame rates on lesser systems like PS4.
Even with PC's you need a good video card to do it justice and have decent frame rates.
The problem of rendering in a MMO is not your own character but the mass of people around. They did something to reduce the amount of visible person around you (initially for the PS3 back in days).
Yoru would like to have longer hairs. But the FFXIV engine is pretty old (older than Eve online) and I'm not sure Square Enix will decide to change this. YoshiP said during a fan fest, about long hairs: "for the PS5".
