Well, I just finished Dad of Light drama with Mana (my spouse in game) and I can say it's great, we laughed a lots and "Wuuuttt" the whole time, too many surprises.
I will try to not giving too much spoilers about story, but I will tell you guys about my joy from watching it now.
For someone who doesn't know about "Dad of Light" drama, it's a true story about a son who tried to invite his dad to play FF14 with him to close the gap between their relationship. This drama has 8 episodes, each ep is about 25min.
First of all, the music of that drama is all FF music. FF music fits all situations and I feel like I'm watching a long long cutscene than a drama. Gamer feeling hits me.
Second, they mixed the son's daily life with the time he's playing FF14. 50% of each ep is inside game world. You will have to say "Wow" when you watch this because they added some special effect while he's playing there (I won't tell you guys, it's a surprise to enjoy).
Third, when I play the game and fight bosses, I have to zoom out max to avoid attack, but in this drama, you can enjoy those epic fight again with closer look. And they added some nice special cutscenes introducing Eorzea world. Of course, the narrator of this story is the son because it's his journey, but last ep is different (another surprise for us).
If you play until Heavensward, you can watch this drama and enjoy the story. If you didn't finish Heavensward, it's fine, it will be like a trailer for you guys, a motivation.
In the end, as they said in drama, "FF14 is not just a game". XD
(Lol, I tried so hard to not spoil anything XD That's so hard *heavy breathing*). I recommend you guys to watch this drama with friends or even family. It will be more fun to share with other people.
This character has been deleted.
I enjoyed the series. It was surprisingly fun to watch. I wish there were more but with new people each season.
Yes, I hope they will make season 2 with more epic fights too.
Yes, me too. I thought at first this story are just mild FFXIV promo, nut it is not.
