Purchase ps3 AND pc to play both platforms? Why?

Really does make me wonder. I purchased the pc version, even preordered. But if I want to say run around gathering on the big screen I have to drop another $40 for it? What's next, charge me a second monthly payment for the access too?
The reason I decided to do a bit of venting here, is because my wife is having problems with her computer, think it might be overheating. And instead of just logging onto her account with the already installed (from phase 4 beta) FFXIV launcher on the ps3, we are told we have to purchase a licence?
I just find that a bit frustrating.
Thats what i was thinking too. Why say the game is crossplatform, yet u must buy two seperate codes, just to use both platforms.

Vivi Doomsday i did expect to get what i paid for and so far i get
1st day 3 maintenaces for 3 hours each
2nd day andother 2 for 2 hours then log in limitation for 5 hours
3rd day 9 hours of 1017
end of EA start of launch -iam still in 1017 after 4 hours of playing.
so lets count it i paid for game where i get 30 days of playing. I spend 4 in errors which means 25€/30 is x*4days is 3,333333 i was playing for 4 hours in 4 days its 10% which is 0,333333 so SE just rip me off 3€
Well.. I can buy two breads for that.. anyways ;) I came over a bit angry sorry for that people.

you missunderstand something there is nowhere writen that i have to buy game - wait 30 days to buy subsc. and then i can play:)
