"I am of the bold prediction," said Sakuta to me while we did a new run of beast tribe work for the Velodyna Gatekeepers, "that there will be some adventurer taking a Fantasia, becoming a Hrothgar and naming himself Male Viera. In this, he assures all of Hydaelyn that Male Viera is a thing and it exists...as a Warrior of Darkness."
"How can you be so sure?" I asked Sakuta, dressed in a light winter sweater, moonfire tanga and whisperfine boots, dyed Othard Blue and Pure White. I also changed my hairstyle ahead of the big week of work.
"Because I feel there are some adventurers who have a lack of gratitude with what is accepted as lore and have chosen to become activists and influencers like that disgraced wench Olivia Jane."
"Who is she?"
"Someone who cheated her way to college and whose parents have ruined her life. Several of her peers have also been dinged, but that is for another tale." He was reading from his tomestone.
"There's your source of real world news....but I do not dislike the new races that will be coming to the Source," I said to him. "But the clamors and petitioning and protests...I can see why the Feast Regional Championship in Japan was simply a one-off match. Some people didn't want their faces shown and memed, one team didn't like the fact that there is no gender equity, even though Viera males are reclusive, accoerding to my tome on Ivalice. One thing is for sure.."
"What is that?" asked Sakuta.
"I will not be changing into a Feol Viera any time soon. I like being who I am because I know you would feel the same."
"I am fine with you being a Viera, if that's what you want. I take on two form anyway so go do what you want."
"I mean I will think about it, but the fact that activism in opposition of the race reveals is mobilizing means that moving to Coeurl is a go but that's it. Sakuta."
"Yes."
"If I didn't get to wake up from my work in Ala Mhigo in a few days, would you hate me for falling into a sleep I won't wake up from?"
"I will accept whatever happens, as painful as it may be, but I will never forget you," Sakuta said, holding my hands together. "If I must, I will wake you up so you can continue doing your work here. You'll be fine. I believe in you because I love you. You know this, Mai."
I laughed. "Oh Sakuta, you really should go into acting and becoming an entertainer, you are so serious this week!" I exclaimed. I looked into his eyes, the concerned eyes of my husband. He needed me to be here still, ever still as my heart grew still. "But I like that from you. I like that." We shared a kiss, and with a nod, we went back to completing our work for the beast tribes.
