I never knew the history of one Jandelaine de Dzamael, other than that that his house, or family, is known for being among the most skilled of craftsmen in Coerthas and Ishgard and that they play a role in the governance of the city-state over there. All I know is that he is the master aesthetician, or barber, of Eorzea and has taught others the unique form of styistic change.
As I continued to make my name felt by leveling up my crafting classes a bit, I realized that I did not need to keep my current hairstyle of twintails to let the people know that I am here. For starters, there is another adventurer among Miss Kahori's Misadventures group that wears the exact same hairstyle. And I did not want to step in her way.
Thus came a dawning on my own personal future. I decided that I needed to change my appearance to that of a more mature-looking, more assertive, more open and professional look. I was not going to get that with my hair tied in bunches. It needed to be let down. So after Jandy (as I like to call the talented Elezen of Ishgard) chose to allow my hair to be let down, I felt liberated. Zorome was going to keep his hairstyle. It was short, no-nonsense and set for life.
But for me, this was a new look that would set the tone for my future adventures. Now I was going to get my work done the way I want to without trying to be somebody I'm not. I went through a series of trials piloting a FRANXX. It was difficult. And as I evolved and chose to see the world for myself, I decided to take a new step and realize who I really am.
And of course, if I want to, I can always pay 2,000 gil to revert to my old twin tails, but I am out of gil, and I used a token given to me by Miss Kahori to actually pay the barber, so, as her satirical brokey broke song goes, back to the inn!
