Utility Macros

Public
With this post I'm going to post some of the macros that I have set up on my hotbars, that people have asked me about:

Class change "drop down" menu:
This wasn't my idea originally, but can't remember who to credit.

1. Make a macro for every single class containing the following:
Click to showClick to hide
/macroicon 1 gearset
/gearset change 1
/hotbar display 4 off
/hotbar display 5 off
/hotbar display 6 off

Name each one for the class it's tied to (the number 1 on lines 1-2 is the number of the gearset in your list). The bottom three lines will re-hide our "drop down menu" once you pick a class; you can change them to whichever three hotbar numbers you want to use for this. You can of course add additional macros for whatever else you need... roleplaying outfits or spiritbinding gear or whatever. This is the step that will take you the longest.

I also have all my gatherers at the max level, and prefer that they all have the detection skills for all three active, so those macros look like this:
Click to showClick to hide
/macroicon 14 gearset
/gearset change 14
/hotbar display 4 off
/hotbar display 5 off
/hotbar display 6 off <wait.1>
/ac "Triangulate" <me> <wait.1>
/ac "Truth of Mountains" <me> <wait.1>
/ac "Truth of Forests" <me> <wait.1>
/ac "Truth of Oceans" <me> <wait.1>
/ac "Fathom" <me>

To use this you of course need to have all the appropriate skills set up as cross-class.

2. Arrange them in three unused hotbars. I went with this layout on bars 4/5/6:

You can see how I organized them; the blue, green and red boxes are my tank, healer and DPS classes. Purple and yellow are my gatherers and crafters. Do whatever works for you.

3. Finally, make your menu button for changing classes and give it this macro and whatever icon you like:
Click to showClick to hide
/hotbar display 4 on
/hotbar display 5 on
/hotbar display 6 on <wait.5>
/hotbar display 4 off
/hotbar display 5 off
/hotbar display 6 off

Again, change 4, 5 and 6 to whatever hotbar numbers you're using. Now when you click this button, these three hotbars will appear and disappear automatically when five seconds have passed, or when you make a choice. Enjoy!

Quest information show/hide:
I was getting tired of the quest log taking up valuable screen space, so I made this:
Click to showClick to hide
/hud scenarioguide on
/hud dutylist on <wait.5>
/hud scenarioguide off
/hud dutylist off

This creates a button that will show your MSQ and duty list for five seconds and then hide them again. You can adjust the wait command for whatever you want it to be. A two-way toggle without a timer is a bit more complicated, so I'll update this post later with that if there's interest.

some cool stuffs here!

Why not just have all your gear set hotbars off to the side and small? Seems like a lot of unnecessary work to me, especially if you're wanting to quickly change through your jobs.

I'm still playing at 1920x1080 resolution, and didn't want to make my hotbar buttons any smaller. Leaving the gearset bars up all the time would clutter my screen quite a bit, so I found that this was the right solution for me.

is there a way to adapt the job change macros for controllers, i'd like to have something like this adapted for ps4 users but no one seems to have something like this
