Gone Au Ra, but I had to go back to Hyur

Public
I was fairly excited when the Au Ra were introduced. A race of dragon people! Awesome! Then we were told that the Au Ra were more demon-like. Ok, fine with me. Then I saw that the male Au Ra had some more....curvy hips compared to the other races. Mkay, I could dig it. But then as I played as an Au Ra more and more, a few things bothered me that I just couldn't deal with anymore.

The eyes. Male Au Ra have eyes that are set in a way where their facial expressions just seem off to me, especially with smiling or looking shocked. Compared to my old Hyur, the male Au Ra facial expressions looked very lacking.

Earrings. You can barely see them! I had hoped that the earrings would hang on the tip of the horns, but they sit at the very base of them near the face, making them near impossible to see.

Movement animations. Male Au Ra have a funny way of sprinting and their walking makes them look like they're trying to do some sort of power walk. It looks so forced and unnatural.

I really loved the Kimarhi-eque hairstyle my Au Ra had, but everything else my old Hyur did better won out, so now I am back to a midlander. Hopefully I can get that Au Ra hairstyle in the future for my Hyur.

Yay Hyur forever.

To be honest, I didn't want to be a Hyur when 2.0 came out, but none of the other races appealed to me, so I went as this. He grew on me over time and I don't think I'd ever change again! Thankfully, my eternal bond partner got me a Fantasia today so I could go back to my old self.

Many players want their character to stand out or have some unique feature. It is hard to do so with the "human" race in RPGs when there are other non-human races to chose from. You usually have to sell your character with a little more tact.

That's why with our race its all about personality.

Indeed it is. I have my hyur set as a helpful fellow, though a bit panicky (/panic go!) when people get a little too close to him. I'm looking at you everyone who /hugs me!

Awww... Everyone here thinks hyurs are the way to go...

Don't worry, soon you'll realize just how much the lalas have overtaken while you have been dealing with the au ra inclusion. IT WAS ALL A RUSE! A DISTRACTION! LALAZEA SHALL BE OURS! *Flails Wildly*

Hmm...I just felt like wandering in here, but as an Au'ra, I don't feel welcome

Plus, it's to much of a Hyur appreciation blog

All a matter of opinion....

there are too many appreciation blogs for the lesser races, human master race deserves them.

Firstly, Lalas are not my thing. Secondly, Au Ras are just fine, but they are not for me plus everyone has already gotten all the squee out of their Au Ra. Lastly, everyone is always "CHECK OUT MY X!" but no one gives a damn about Hyurs.

This was not a blog to "praise" Hyurs, but to simply say why Au Ra simply wasn't cutting it for me. Now if Square made a Bangaa like race....
