I had a short visit on several JP worlds for surveillance of English players existence beside of Tonberry during last weekend.
I spent most of my time in two worlds: Atomos & Tiamat. Just got time for conversation with some random players both English and English-speaking Japanese players. They said that Japanese players were outnumbering those English so greatly.
They also shared some thoughts that most of the time the two was hardly mixed especially in high difficulty duty like Bahamut Coils. I nodded my character quite often in reflection of my understanding of the current situation.
However, this is not the point of my blog here...

I employed in-game search engine called "player search" to find out rough number of English player being online in the world. What I found was surprising: considerable number of English player was being online, but it wasn't true at all because it was overlapped with those multi-language activated search info and... suspicious beings.
As you can see on both pics focused on what I highlighted with red, there are several "non-humanly" names wandering around as THM/BLM locked as in-party status in the same location. It felt like my alarm sense rang so loudly. I got back to my own world in Garuda, yet I found this kind of filthy thing; even though I didn't put the screenshot cz I forgot since my brain had gotten into outburst of madness "Oh come one English, why are you doing this?!" In that time I couldn't stop thinking they were bots.
Someone please help me to clarify this.
I'm sure those are bots. They do seem to tend to favor the lvl 50 Thaumaturge or Black Mage and those names kind of solidify it. You can find some interesting things just browsing FCs on each server on the Lodestone too...
Also, I'm not sure about the Lodestone policies, but Forum policies don't allow you to show names of suspected bots. Just thought I would give you a heads up in case it does. You can always just blank out the names.
Thank you for your alarm Mina. I didn't touched forum yet. I am sure it is safe of doing this on Lodestone because I saw older posts in related case.
Yeah, I thought it would probably be safe here, I just didn't know for sure and figured I would offer it up anyways. :)
I saw the same thing on Hyperion on 9/6 right before All Worlds Maintenance. I saw about 10 level 50 THM/BLMs, all same race, type, design, etc. and all sketchy names like the ones you saw. I was told by a friend that they were Square Enix Testers and usually show up around World Maintenance. Made sense to me.
