I finished the Hildibrand Questline!

When I started playing Final Fantasy 14, back in October 2021, I was aware of the existence of the Hildibrand questline, thanks to Captain Grimm's awesome video "WoW Players Experience FF14".

When I finished the ARR MSQ one of the first things I did was NOT to start doing the post-ARR content right away, but instead to start the Hildibrand questline.

Now, a few weeks after starting the Hildibrand questline (which was like 2 months ago I believe) I found out from a video made by ZeplaHQ on Youtube that you can get an "upgraded" version of the Manderville Dance and that is the Manderville Mambo and I was hooked! I needed to continue the Hildibrand Questline, but at the time I was still getting through the post-ARR and HW content and I wanted to do the MSQ further.
It was until a few days ago when I resolved to continue on with the HW Hildibrand questline, when seeing one of my friends (you know who you are ;) ) dancing the Manderville Mambo for me.
If anything I wanted to finish Stormblood more quickly not because I wanted to enter Shadowbringers, tho that is STILL one of the main reasons why I soldiered on, but it was because I wanted the Manderville Mambo :D

I've had so much fun with this questline, laughed my ass off more times than I care to count and I got to see my character in situations that are unlike the ones you experience in the MSQ. Elril - my WoL's reactions to many of the shenanigan's of Hildy and co. are what make this questline so great for me.

For screenshot consistency sake, I initially wanted to level up my Gunbreaker to level 70 so I could have consistent glam in all the screenshots, but after spending like 5 hours and only managing a measly 3 levels up from 60, I decided to screw consistency and went with my usual Red Mage - which I used in the Yojimbo/Gilgamesh fight and lemme tell ya, I felt so ashamed that I didn't manage get one single cast of Verraise out because I was either too slow to react and the healers got to them first or was too dead to do anything about it :| Man, was that fight hard, geezus Christ, who designed that?!

Anyway, leaving that embarrassing trial aside I finally managed to finish the Stormblood version of the Hildibrand questline yesterday! And I got the Manderville Mambo to show for it. :D

I love taking screenshots of Elril in different cutscenes, he looks so good, even in the goofy ones he looks splendid and I love him to bits because of that! And I am glad I got to experience the Hildibrand storyline with him :D

That's all I wanted to say, no longwinded insights into the quest themselves, just an explanation on what and who spurred me to do and, more importantly, finish the questline :)

May we one day dance together the magnificence that is the Manderville Mambo!
