I was curious and I know other people were so I figured I would add this as my first blog post for FFXIV.

Gridania to Limsa Lominsa ||| Airship Pass

To get from Gridania to Lominsa you will need an Airship Pass. The ferries will not take you until after you have reached this point in the story line. The quest that gives you the airship pass is a level 15 quest(not your character level the quest level) called 'The Gridanian Envoy'. It is the 28th quest in the main story of the 7th Umbral Era. After you beat the 'To Guard a Guardian' quest(25th quest) the rest are quick quests in Gridania.

No, there is no way to Limsa Lominsa without the airship pass.

I believe you can join teleport to houses in La Noscea (FC or shared estate) without having visited the region.
