All Special Macro Characters (Unicode characters)
Public
Final Fantasy XIV uses special Unicode characters. You can't view them outside of the game. (Apperantly they are working here) Copy / Paste these lines into the macro editor ingame.
This post contains all of the undefined unicode characters. Most of them will appear as a "=" sign ingame. These could be changed to symbols in future patches.
Some usable unicode characters found by accident (visible here):

ASIDE for copying someone elses while in-game ...is it possible to add these on ps4 manually??
I don't know sorry. I'm playing on PC.
As is the typical response. Thank you for responding <3
Alt codes? Or just put those sequence of characters in?
Just copy the character in the game without changing.
This is a nice find! I knew that there were already a bunch of these put up online at various points in time but this list seems to have a few new ones that the lists I've come across before did not have. One thing that I noticed from this list is the symbols that don't show up here, in this case, the "" symbols don't display correctly in-game. They just come up as "=" symbols. I've tried using different web browsers when performing copy/paste using ctrl+c > ctrl+v or right-click to no avail.
the "=" ones are currently unused, thats just a placeholder character. the squares are your browser's method of displaying a character it doesnt recognize, which it wont because these are specifically made for ffxiv and not official unicode characters. in fact, the reason you can copy and paste them from your browser to ffxiv is because the data they use to function *is* unicode, but they are simple placeholders for custom use
tl;dr nothing except ffxiv will recognize them
If you're on ps4, you can have a PC player send the special characters to you. For example, we did it in a linkshell. Then I enabled virtual controller to highlight, copy, and then paste them into an unused macro so I could access them at any time. Then to put them in a macro you just need to select what icons you wish to use use and then copy+paste one by one. It's a bit tedious but it was my workaround when I was on ps4.
Some symbols I didn't see in the list after Copy/Pasting:

I created a tool for typing and copying block letters as well as other FFXIV secret code characters! :p
