Character

I've been asked by Non-FSH what Dunefishing is. It's a Lv35 Trait that opens up more areas (themed around deserts) for fishing. I've included some maps to give an idea of where you can fish. Instead of the zone walls being waterfronts like in Limsa, they're dunes.

The Lv35 FSH quest sends you to Forgotten Springs to learn the art of Dunefishing. You need to speak with an NPC named U'gogomuli and then off you go to figure out yourself. So! I'm here to tell you what that NPC didn't:

* Talk to the resident Mender & Merchant to buy Dune-flavored bait. Won't get anywhere without that.

* U'gogomuli tells you to fish south of Byregot's Strike to find Desert Catfish. That is wrong, wrong (I'm probably mistaken, but roll with me here), WRONG!

I refer you to the first posted map of the Sagolii desert. Notice that Byregot's Strike is in the middle. To west is Sagolii DESERT. To the east of Sagolii DUNES. To the south is Sagolii NOTHING. From my not entirely thorough (but I did go all around the inlet south of Byregot's Strike and west to the wall) exploratory fishing, I'm pretty sure that south is using the DESERT set of fish. There's 2 fish I haven't been able to land yet in that area so I won't be positive until I do, but....

If you go to Sagolii DUNES there most definitely are Catfish right smack where that cute little fish icon is on the map. Put Stealth up and knock yourself out.

The best thing to come out of fishing the southern zone wall was the final picture of fishing during sunrise :3 Was very crisp orange and pretty. Also, I was more than halfway to 36 by the time I found a Catfish. Stupid NPC.

Of course, I'm probably totally confused and was told to go somewhere I haven't uncovered on my map yet, but hey >_>a No one said I was perfect~ (As my next post will demonstrate shortly.)
