An appreciation blog for my favorite beast tribes in Realm Reborn and Heavensward. With Endwalker well establish and all the current expansions having their own “pairs,” so to speak, I wanted an excuse to praise some of the other lively inhabitants of the world of FFXIV. Not shooting down other Beast Tribes and feel welcomed to share your faves.
First off is possibly the first beast tribe that I started: Kobolds. The furry, Titan tempered creatures of Limsa with a rare eye for mining and precious materials. I honestly love their design and speaking quirk of using synonyms. It just comes off as flawless—perfect, sound, flawless. I’m pretty obsessed with finding another word and Kobolds have become the first thought I get nowadays when imagining that. Speaking of Kobolds on mind, Ga Bu will always be among one if my favorite characters throughout FF14 proper. I’ve shared a couple of shots of the beast tribe of the 789th Order.
In Heavensward, on the expanse of Dravanian Forelands, beyond the outskirts of Tailfeather, the Beast Tribe (Adventuring Guild) of the Vath, or Nonmind, live an interesting life. Separated from their original way of living under the hive of the Onemind, Vath are a growing community of individuality. It’s not that I’m oppose to the Onemind of the Gnath, but I imagine willpower to fight instinct and become an individual has to be powerful. To explore the interests oneself and even join a community where everyone doesn’t agree. There is a fun lil’ bit of Vath quests with The Hungerer and Cibleroit. 2 Vath that bicker over what food they like and which is better: meat or fruit. The Gnath eat near flavorless paste, according to them. The Hunger and Cibleroit together want to explore the ever-growing palette of new flavors of the world. The naming of the Vath vary and “We’s” and “I’s” sprinkled in dialogue are just a beautiful addition to show they’re still adapting to being…greater by themselves. Pics from the Vath beast tribe
