From the main menu, select System and open the System Configuration menu, then select the Gamepad Settings tab from the column on the left. Under Gamepad Customization, select the Begin button next to "Button Configuration." This will open a window from which you may adjust mapping for different gamepad buttons, including Confirm and Cancel.
