Carrying around a lot of clothing items will leave you without much space in your armoury chest or inventory.
The armoire and glamour dresser can ease this problem. Certain items such as seasonal event costumes can be placed in the armoire, with no upper limit on the number of items that can be stored. For items that cannot be kept in the armoire, there is the glamour dresser.
Dyed items can be placed in glamour dressers. However, glamour prisms are required to place items in the glamour dresser, and there is a limit to the number that it can hold.
The armoire also has some limitations. Although glamour prisms are required to store items, in some cases, dyes will be removed from certain parts of the item, or removed entirely.
See
Glamour Prisms for more details on this feature.
The armoire can store artifact armor, seasonal event costumes, achievement rewards, bonus items, and other specific items.
Storing items dyes, crests, and glamours may be removed. In addition, spiritbond will be reset to 0% and durability will be set to 100%.
If you want to keep dyes when storing items, or wish to use dyed items to cast glamours, the glamour dresser is a more suitable choice.
The glamour dresser converts items into glamours that can then be applied to your gear.
One glamour prism is required for each item placed in the glamour dresser. These items can then be combined with other items and saved to glamour plates, which allows entire outfits to be applied as glamours simultaneously.
See the following section for further details.
Glamour plates allow you to save combinations of gear in your glamour dresser and armoire as ensembles. All of the glamours saved to a plate can be applied simultaneously to your current equipment. Glamour plates can be edited as many times as you like and give you the opportunity to experiment with all sorts of outfits.
You can find the glamour dresser in inn rooms in places such as Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah.
* You must have unlocked the "Cast Glamour" action to access the glamour dresser.
