The user interface, or UI for short, refers to the various on-screen elements and menus through which a player interacts with the game. The UI in FFXIV can be adjusted in myriad ways to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience.

Group Pose / Group Pose
To take a screenshot with a blurred background, check the box labeled "Enable depth of field." located under Depth of Field of General Settings in the Group Pose Settings menu. (For the Mac version, the "Enable depth of field." check box is located under Graphics Settings in the System Configuration menu.)
Softness level can be adjusted with the Value slider under the check box. The smaller the value is, the more blurry the background becomes.
Blurring the background makes the subject in the foreground stand out.
