To increase a chocobo's rank to 11 or above, you must raise its maximum rank by feeding it a Thavnairian onion.
Thavnairian onions can be purchased via market boards, grown in garden patches, or received as rewards in certain quests.
A chocobo's rank can be raised up to rank 20. Doing so will make all skills for each role available for selection.
